what a weekend it will be

what a delight what a wonder what a weekend it will be. celebrations abound me with my number one choice traineeship locked up and landed.

smelt with her victory in academia.

gazelle in and out of town so quickly I must grab him for a drink and those olives at Colosso

new friend the therapist at Blue Gardenia Saturday morning for the most perfect cup of coffee

mermaid with her fun and funny gig at Wilf's piano bar big red leather chairs bartender's been there one hundred years or more.

action jackson, the amazing nephew toddler who chirps instead of talking, bangs on everything, drives me to distraction but I adore him. Jackson is coming to visit.

today there was snow.
what a weekend it will be indeed I haven't been this happy in so long now I know how not-happy I have been my goodness. what a weekend.

shimmering sugerplums

I got it I got it hooray my myth is that I don't get what I want I don't try for what I want in life and thus I get nowhere but that's okay I didn't want any of it anyhow.

anyhow.

But I wanted this traineeship! I set my sights on it and I went for it all dressed up resume in place letterhead introduction speech practiced the questions the answers the whole bit convinced them to take me at this wonderful place that counsels portland's down and out for only five dollars a session.

more than convinced them I made phone calls and got in an argument with a woman from Harvard who said that west coast students don't know how to work hard. My monologue retort made her laugh and then I laughed but really she was quite the quite and the conversation made my ears turn red though I stood my ground and even gained some.

Here is what excites me beyond the beyond:
they videotape every one and I get to watch myself and my clients (my clients!) as a training tool they also have guest speakers every week and seminars and meetings and so much support. The best part is that they throw their trainees into the fire and say sink or swim but we know you can swim and we'll be here cheering you on. One hour get acquainted meeting and then here come the clients.

woo-ha.

so now shimmering sugerplums dance in my heart filled with joy.

lose a friend gain

a month ago I lost a friend or let her lose herself I did.

I cared too much too little too oddly too Me and so we don't talk now don't email don't order SideCars at Bernie's Southern Bistro or martinis from Mark. I miss her less and less and that is sad but also a relief of sorts.

A relief of sorts.

birthday night out with a crowd a wonderful crowd ended the night at Pix laughing tired and happy. One of my best times ever had -- there were presents that sparkled and smelled good and everyone laughed some meeting each other for the first time and we all fell in love over chocolates and sazarecs yum.

oscar party new people were added and contests abounded and we weren't done until ten stayed up with Lu past midnight just to see if the cheese and the cupcake and the salami and the olives would cause her tummy any trouble but also stayed up from the thrill of a really good party.

friday night out with a girl I know but now know better and oh it was a delight. A delight the kind of perfect evening that you savor all week or even longer. Roux was the setting, myriad were the topics, good were the times.

Life is full and getting fuller.

ps wish me luck on wednesday as I interview for an internship next step to becoming a therapist some day with an office and lovely tweed suits.
